I've been working across S.E.Asia for the last thirty five years - the first 24 in Hong Kong focusing on k-12 education and the continuing professional development of teachers in an international environment. Since 2002 I've been living in Chiangmai, Thailand, working across the region within my own consultancy "The Education Project Asia' supporting teachers and life-long learners related to educational technology. My primary guidelines have always been to support the 'self esteem' of all individuals I've been fortunate to work with ... if people feel good about themselves then they can achieve the impossible. My friend and I were recently talking about how we as human beings are so hooked onto electronics. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.
I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as the price of memory decreases, the possibility of copying our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could experience in my lifetime.
